Learning Conversations (Years 7-10)
Learning Conversations (Years 7-10)
In order to facilitate the Learning Conversations model simultaneously across four year groups, the College will utilise distance learning and working from home for students. In the past students have used their time working from home productively, completing class and assessment work, collaborating for group work, and working on projects and individual study.
We are providing both online and onsite interview opportunities to enable all parents to engage in honest, collaborative conversations with their daughter and their teacher, prioritising our continuing partnership in student learning. Our aim is for students to accept ownership and shared responsibility for their growth as a learner based on the Benedictine Values of Humility, Discipline, Obedience and Conversatio.
The 2024 Semester One Student Reports, available in Term Two, Week Nine, will be a valuable resource for these interviews, providing guidance for student reflection on completed work, their application to learning and how to improve.
Parents will also have the opportunity to book an interview with their daughter’s Homeroom Mentor to further discuss their Student Action Plans (wellbeing, learning and growth goals) as well as their overall progress and achievement. All interview slots will be six minutes.
Email communication with dates, learning arrangements and booking details was sent to all parents on Monday 24 June with arrangements for each year group.
Please see the Upcoming Events Calendar within the newsletter for specific dates.
There will be supervision available at school for students who are unable to stay at home. If your daughter is attending on any of the listed days, please notify the College by Friday 9 August via email admin@msb.nsw.edu.au so that we can ensure there is adequate student supervision.
Transport arrangements: With our College value of Stewardship in mind, the Bennies Private Buses and Bennies Cherrybrook Shuttle Bus will not be operating on the Learning Conversation Days as students will be learning from home (14,15,19 and 20 August).
Please contact transport@msb.nsw.edu.au if you have any queries.

Temporary Relocation of Student Services
Temporary Relocation of Student Services
Now that the MSB Centre renovation project is complete and in full use, we are excited to announce the next stage of the College master plan, with the renovation of the ground floor of A Block, which commenced during the term break. This building previously accommodated Student Services, Sick Bay and the Wellbeing Team. Upon completion in Term Four, we will introduce three additional TAS multi-purpose learning spaces, a dedicated Health Clinic, and upgraded offices for Student Services and the Wellbeing Team.
During this construction phase, Student Services and Sick Bay have temporarily relocated to the MSB Centre.
Please refer to the College Map and reference points below for detailed access information:

MSB Traffic Management
MSB Traffic Management
As the renovation of the MSB Centre and College car parks is now complete, please read these important traffic management safety reminders.
1. Restricted Vehicle Access to College Grounds:
Please do not enter the College grounds by car or block access to the College driveways on Pennant Hills Road and Hull Road between 7:30 am and 4:30 pm.
The Hull Road driveway is close to the corner of Pennant Hills Road, and staff and students regularly access this entry. Please do not use this driveway to turn around at any time.
2. Parking Regulations:
There is no parking access on College grounds during the school day unless prior approval has been given.
3. Safe Drop-Off and Pick-Up Areas:
Safe drop-off or pick-up areas include Hull Road, Loftus Road, Wilson Road, and the designated pick-up and drop-off zone on Killaloe Ave, Pennant Hills (at the rear of the North Connex depot).
Students must use the pedestrian access bridge to cross Pennant Hills Road.
Students arriving at the bus stop on Pennant Hills Road must use the zebra crossing to access the College. Students must not walk across the College's main driveway on Pennant Hills Road, as drivers have limited visibility.
Students are not to be dropped off on the College side of Beecroft Road or on Pennant Hills Road at any time.
Please be considerate of residential driveways when dropping off and picking up students and parking.
4. Use of Public Transport:
Students are encouraged to use public transport for travel to and from the College. The College also operates some private bus services and a shuttle to and from the Cherrybrook Metro Station.
5. Consideration for Local Community:
When driving is necessary, senior students are advised to be considerate of the local community when parking in residential areas.
