New Complaints Handling Policy
New Complaints Handling Policy
Your feedback is important to us, so we wanted to give you advance notice that we are changing some aspects of how we receive feedback from you.
Anonymous Complaints
In line with our College values and the principles of natural justice, we are continually looking at ways to ensure that the complaints process is fair for all students, parents, staff and the broader community.
Based on the last Two years of data collected from our Feedback Form, the College has made the decision to remove the option for anonymous complaints. The reasons for this decision include:
- Approximately 70%-80% of complaints are made anonymously, mostly by students, and these complaints create a significant volume of issues that we are unable to respond to or investigate adequately or fairly, as we cannot verify the facts with the unknown complainant.
- The anonymous complaint process can be used to vent feelings or make unfounded statements with no real consequences or insights gained. This is not in line with College values.
- The College really values student voices but there are other more appropriate avenues for this such as the Student Representative body.
As a community, the College needs to know the identify of complainants in order to manage the complaint for the best outcomes. This change is also in line with industry standards and guidance set by the Association of Independent Schools of NSW.
What does not change?
- The College Whistleblower Policy and the confidential and anonymous disclosure service of STOPline remains in place for anyone wanting to raise concerns about issues of wrong-doing relating to the College.
- Child Safeguarding - Reportable Conduct Complaints are still addressed in accordance with the College Child Safe Policies and the Child Protection Responding and Reporting Policy. Any concerns about staff misconduct including a potential breach of professional conduct should be reported to the Principal or Deputy Principal and concerns regarding students potentially being at 'risk of significant harm' should be reported to the Dean of Wellbeing.
- Going forward, students who wish to raise an issue anonymously can provide suggestions or raise complaints/issues via the Student Representative body.
Next Steps
- A new Complaints Handling Policy will replace the Feedback Policy and will be updated on the public website at the end of this term.
- From Term Four, 2025, if you want to raise a complaint via the online form, you must provide your name and contact details so we can investigate it fairly and appropriately.
The current process and Feedback Form will remain in place until the last day of this term - Friday 26 September 2025.

Upcoming Change to Student Wi-Fi Access
Upcoming Change to Student Wi-Fi Access
From the beginning of Term Four, students will no longer be able to connect personal devices (such as mobile phones and tablets) to the College Wi-Fi.
This change will not affect:
- College-provided laptops, which remain connected as normal.
- Other College owned and managed devices.
As part of our proactive review policy for the College’s digital security posture, we engage third party experts in annual audit activities. As a result of this years report, we are making several adjustments to ensure our network continues to remain safe and reliable in an era of increasing cybercrime and hacking activity. One of these changes is to restrict Wi-Fi access to College owned and managed devices.
By taking this step, we can:
- Continue to adhere to evolving best practice management of our network and data.
- Continue to ensure Wi-Fi access is prioritised for learning on College laptops.
- Continue to provide a consistent digital environment for students and staff.
To avoid disruption for our senior students, this change will not come into effect until the end of Term Three, allowing Year 12 to complete their preparations and sit their HSC examinations without any impact.
We appreciate your support as we make this adjustment to help safeguard our community and ensure technology continues to be used purposefully in learning.
